D-galactose, also known as mucilage sugar, is a natural simple sugar that occurs in nature primarily as a component of milk sugar (lactose), but is also obtained - as in our product - through plant fermentation. Its glycemic index is just 20 and is therefore ideal not only for people who are lactose intolerant, but also for diabetics. The simple sugar does not affect insulin levels and is also well tolerated.

Galactose fulfils several functions in the body. It is an essential building material for the walls of the body's cells and a component of many proteins. In addition, thanks to its insulin-independent utilization, it is considered an ideal source of energy for the brain. Since the simple sugar is involved in the metabolism of brain cells, D-galactose is also known as "brain sugar".
